      The body of a 15 year old from Denton, Texas was recovered by rescue divers following an accidental drowning Saturday June 30^th, 2007, near Allen Dam on  Saline Lake, according to Winn Parish Sheriff, James E. “Buddy” Jordan.

      Jordan said his office received a call at approximately 11:39 a.m. that the two young boys were walking or wading near the edge of the lake about a mile from the dam and that one of the boys went under water and never came back up. Sheriff’s deputies, Natchitoches Sheriff Rescue, Natchitoches Parish EMS, Med Express, Pafford Air One, Louisiana State Police, State Wildlife Agents, Winn Fire Department, and Natchitoches Fire District 9 responded.

      Jordan stated that divers from Natchitoches Fire District 9 recovered the body of Eric Anthony Johnson at approximately 12:58 and turned the body over to the Winn Parish Coroner’s office.

     The youth accompanying Johnson was treated at the scene and transported by Natchitoches Parish EMS to Winn Parish Medical Center
