     Firefighting is a profession that is for dedicated individuals that have a love for helping others. While this is true this is also a dangerous profession and requires dedication, commitment, and excellence in performance of duties.

     Working as a volunteer fireman means responding to incidents where your life and safety may be in danger in order to help others. Volunteer firemen comprise most of the fire services in the United States and without them we would be in serious trouble.

     As a volunteer fireman, you may be called to respond to grass/woods fires, structure fires, gas leaks, hazardous material incidents, motor vehicle accidents, rescue operations, etc. Training is a plus; however there are training events available through the Natchitoches Training Center as well as in-house training.

     If you feel that you have what it takes and are eager and willing to learn and help others, read the requirements and contact us!

Application Requirements:

  Must be at least 18 years of age

Must have a valid Louisiana Drivers License

Must not have any medical condition that would prevent you from performing duties required

Have a good driving record

Have not been convicted of criminal offenses

Any Training or Certifications is a plus (not required)

Must be in good standing in the community

Selection Criteria:

When there is an opening at the fire department, applications will be processed and reviewed, and upon satisfactory evaluation of the application, you will be contacted.
